The diverter is getting stuck on the left ramp, and it can block shots up the ramp that should have gone toward the lock area. It's probably the case that the set screw has backed out a little.

The end of the spring that connects the plunger to the diverter had snapped off (despite me having replaced the entire plunger and spring assembly in October; the part is https://www.marcospecialties.com/pinball-parts/A-16636). I bent the remaining part of the spring into place, and it's working fine now.
