When playing Paragon as the first game of the finals for a Belles & Chimes tournament, player 1 hit three of the inline drop targets down to get two bonus advances and then a 2X multiplier. She then hit the third drop target, but the 3X insert didn't light on the playfield. Then, she got into the 5X saucer, and the bonus multiplier insert moved up from 2X to 3X, and then jumped to 5X. At that point, I'm not sure whether she stopped playing because of the weirdness or whether the flippers died, but the ball drained and it awarded her bonus.
This happened on stream, starting around two hours and 41 minutes at https://www.twitch.tv/videos/2799229536
Watched the clip from the stream. Wish someone had tried to see if the next player would flip / score before shutting down but I’ll try to look at it tomorrow.
I just put in about 15 games on it, including several times that I got up to a 5x multiplier, and a couple of games where I got to at least 3x on every ball. I didn't see any issues at all related to the drop targets not advancing things properly. I did get a couple of classic Bally bricks, but I also got one where I knocked down the second and third drop targets on a single shot, and that properly gave me one bonus advance and took me to 2x.
There was definitely something not quite right with the game on stream, but it may have been just that the 3x target didn't register initially, but it seemed to correct itself when she made the 5x saucer. Probably something to keep an eye on, but maybe just a freak occurrence.
I’m going to tweak the upper saucer at some point. I will also clean the drop mech to get any mechanical debris off the switch blades.
