Won't kick a ball into the shooter lane

When I turn the machine on, it displays a message about checking the switch for the ball shooter, and when I press the start button, it looks like it might lightly pulse the coil that's supposed to put the ball in the shooter lane, but it doesn't actually get the ball into the lane.
